world. BEGINNING
METAL WORKS JEWELRY Create metal jewelry designs with texturing
techniques and get a chance to use really cool jewelers tools. Go home with
a finished piece of jewelry each day of class. There is an $18 supply fee payable
to the instructor at the first class. BUTTON
& PAPER MOSAICS Design and create beautiful mosaic designs.
Select buttons according to size, shape and color to fit your designed drawing

DINOSAUR
ADVENTURES Become the worlds next great dinosaur archeologist.
On this exploratory journey, you will create fascinating, never-before-seen dinosaurs
and artifacts from the past.
EXTREME
PAINTING Learn to make your colors POP in Extreme Painting! You
can paint about underwater creatures, birthday sleep-overs, outer space galaxies,
soccer games, hunting expeditions and karate tournaments! You will start with
a pencil sketch and turn it into a masterpiece on canvas. Painting with colorful
acrylic paint will produce exciting pictures for your wall. Color will make all
the difference! FUR,
FINS & FEATHERS Animals of all kinds will be created through
drawings, paintings and three dimensional works. Create our own imaginative creatures
of the air, land and sea while learning about natures wildlife. GREEN
& GROWING Kids love gardens and bugs. Explore our imaginary
gardens and discover what can be living in or around them. Come and get your hands
dirty and see what art you can grow. JAPANESE
INK PAINTING Learn
the technique of Japanese Ink Painting (Sumi-e). Make ink washes and create beautiful,
simple paintings using one color ink. Study nature, insects and animals as subjects
for your painting because the Japanese have a great respect for nature.

METAL
WORKS JEWELRY Create

saw and hammer along with some really cool tools. Go home with a finished piece
of jewelry each day of class. There is an $18 supply fee payable to the instructor
at the first class. MOSAICSIn this mosaic class, you will use different types
of materials such as paper or glass. Projects may include a tile, a flower pot
or vase and a stepping stone. Dress for a mess and plan on getting a little muddy
from the grout. Note: Students will be handling glass pieces. PAINTING
ON CANVAS Painting with colorful acrylic paint will produce exciting
pictures on stretched canvas for your walls. In this class we will build on painting
concepts that you already know. You will choose the subject matter and the color
combinations to make a unique painting all your own. Painting while standing at
an easel or while sitting at a table will be your choice. You may paint from your
imagination or bring photographs to inspire you. This class will offer lots of
room for your individual choices. SAORI
WEAVING Do
you want to express yourself? Then, this is it! With SAORI weaving, you can take
advantage of your free nature and can create a one-of-a-kind woven
piece of art! Special SAORI looms make weaving easy so you just need to bring
your willingness to explore! SUMINAGASHI
(The Subtle Japanese Art of Marbling) Learn the ancient and fun process of
marbling paper and objects. Create and explore color and design by the subtle
use of a brush and placement of ink on water. TROPICAL
PARADISE Take
a trip to your own tropical paradise where you may find sandy beaches, willowy
palm trees and underwater adventures. You may even find some pirates searching
for treasures.

CAMP
grades 7-12 PHOTOGRAPHY
- DARKROOM LAB Learn the basics of black and white photography,
including how to develop film and print your own photographs in Bloomington Art
Centers darkroom lab. Bring a 35mm camera and a $35 lab fee to the first
class to cover the costs of film, special photographic paper and chemicals. GLASS
CAMPS
grades 7-12 LAMP
WORKED GLASS BEADS Learn
how to make those beads that youve been buying to make bracelets. You will
learn how to make round beads, square beads, heart beads and more. Learn to dot,
to dot on dots and make all kinds of designs. Torches and tools provided by BAC.
You will need to bring 2 or 3 canisters of Mapp Gas for the week, (found at Menards,
Home Depot or hardware store). Instructor will have glass rods for sale (approx.
$10.00 to start). FUSED
GLASS A
beginning class on how to fuse glass using layers of glass youll cut in
class. Youll make projects such as glass tiles, night light, photo frames
and a bowl. Bring safety goggles with sides on them, household pliers and a notebook
on the first day. FUSED
GLASS PENDANT & WIRE WRAPPING In this class, you will first
create a pendant using special dichroic fusible glass that will be placed in a
kiln and fired. There will be time enough for more than one. Then using copper
wire, you will learn some techniques to finish the pendant making a wearable piece
of art jewelry. There is a supply fee of $15.00 payable to the instructor on the
first day to cover the cost of the glass and wire. CLAY
CAMPS
CREATIONS
IN CLAY Instead
of painting pictures, imagine taking a hunk of clay and making a work of art in
three dimensions. Youll make pinch pots, sculptural animals, tiles, bowls,
environments, block houses or learn how clay was used in ancient cultures. Every
week is different and projects are age-appropriate. No previous experience required! THEATER
CAMP ADVENTURES
IN MUSICAL THEATER Do you love Musical Theater? This camp is for
you! Work on scenes and songs from Musical Theater history with a professional
director and singer/vocal coach. Strengthen your acting and singing ability while
broadening your performance experience. There will be a final class presentation.
