Linda C. Anderson is the author of the Angel Animals series. Her work has been featured in USA Today, NPR, the Washington Post and more. Her book about animal rescue won the American Society of Journalists & Authors Outstanding Book Award in 2007. Since 1998, Linda has taught at The Loft. Marge Barrett has written the poetry chapbook, My Memoir Dress, prose and poetry in numerous journals such as the Best of the Web 2009 and The State We’re In. A former editor of River Images for the St. Croix ArtBarn and faculty advisor of Ivory Tower for the University of Minnesota, she teaches at the Loft Literary Center, the Jewish Community Center, and blogs a column of short-shorts for www.MinnPost.com.

Mary Bleckwehl is a first time children's author. Her picture book Henry! You’re Late Again! earned six awards the first six months, including Mom's Choice Award gold medal for humor. She’s a retired elementary teacher who spends time in schools subbing, volunteering and doing author visits. Marilyn Brown, a freelance artist and illustrator, studied at Minnesota College of Art. She also trained in Johannesburg, South Africa; Venice, Italy; and at Atelier Le Sueur in Excelsior, Minnesota.  Marilyn illustrated Dress Up Dog and the Dog Show, Girls Can! Ute Buehler’s lifelong love affair with photography began in her homeland, Germany, with a gift of a camera that came with instructions from her father on the art of photography. Her first book is an illustrated travel book that is combined with a cooking guide about Germany. Susan Doerr is the Operations Manager of the University of Minnesota Press.  She has been the Marketing Director for Consortium Book Sales and Distribution and publicist for Milkweed Press.

Chris Fischbach joined the Coffee House Staff in 1995, after receiving his BA from Carleton College. He assumed the role of publisher in July of 2011, replacing Alan Kornblum, the founder of Coffee House Press.

Dawn Frederick is the owner of Red Sofa Literary agency. Her broad knowledge of the book business is from being a bookseller in the independent, chain, and specialty stores; an editor for a YA publisher; a published nonfiction author, and an associate at Sebastian Literary Agency.  She carries a B.S. in Human Ecology, and a M.S. in Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited institution.   www.RedSoftLiterary.com

Annette Gagliardi has authored two curriculums titled, Raising Children with Roots, Rights & Responsibilities and Surviving the First Year: Learning the Basics of Family Day Care. Lynn Garthwaite is the published author of a series of mysteries for beginning readers.  The fourth book in her series is awaiting the work of the illustrator and will be published in the spring of 2012. Lynn's is currently researching and writing a non-fiction book for fifth graders to explain why our states have their quirky shapes. Lynn is a member of SCBWI and the Bloomington Literary Council.

Sheryl Hill is author of Walking on Sunshine, NRG – A Divine Transformation.  Her book is a spiritual memoir that soothes grief with evidence of life after death.  She is also a web content writer, technical writer, professional public speaker and artist.  Sheryl has received awards for public service and is the founding director of ClearCause Foundation and ClearCause Coalition.  www.walkingonsunshine.org

Cynthia Holm’s plays represent her first love of historical and political drama, where she recreates past events, revealing untold histories and new perspectives.  She received her BA in Playwriting from the University of Minnesota in 2005. Her work "A Rembrandt's Eyes" received the U of M’s 2002 Arthur Ballet Playwriting Award, and the Panowski Playwriting Award in 2003, given by Northern Michigan University.

Chuck Hues, the ArtGuy, started doodling at age 3. His paintings even now resemble his doodle style. After graduating from Auburn University Visual Arts Dept. in 1990, he started drawing for musical acts that included the Grateful Dead, while painting murals became his “day job.”  He become the art director for such festivals as WeFest and 10,000 Lakes Festival, but his true passion always brings him back to the drawing table where his doodle pens live. www.chuckhues.com

Tom Keyes is an award-winning publisher at Third Child Press. His eclectic background includes running an I.T. Project-management Company, managing two national sales and marketing organizations, and owning a bank-consulting firm with clients throughout the United States and the Caribbean. Tammy Laurent is a speaker, soon-to-be-author of a gift book for widows, and financial advisor with a passion for helping others control their destiny and their finances.  This experience led her to focus on women's issues, particularly widows, forming a monthly networking and support lunch for widows going through the transition of suddenly finding themselves single.   She completed National Speakers Association’s apprentice program, is a certified toastmaster, and delivers inspirational keynotes.

Betsy LePlatt A friend once told Betsy “In the end, you will receive no refunds for unused portions of your life.” In addition to working as an artist for many years, Betsy has been a dancer, an aerial artist and a firefighter. These experiences, her family, and nature inspire and influence her work. Austin Massee has owned an IT consulting firm for 8 years, and has been involved with computers and web sites since a young teenager. Dorie McClelland, award-winning book designer, has developed and produced the design story for more than 300 authors and publishers throughout the nation. From children’s picture books and family histories to trade fiction, coffee table and books of art, Dorie individualizes the design. She is a member of Minnesota BookBuilders, Minnesota Book Publishers Roundtable, and the Creatives Group, where she continues to study design and technology. Mark Munger, a lifelong Minnesotan, owns Cloquet River Press, and is the author of eight books, including four novels. His family lives on the Cloquet River north of Duluth. When not working on historical fiction, contemporary fiction, or creative non-fiction, Mark is a District Court Judge. Pat Proft is a screenwriter and actor who moved to LA to do improv, standup and writing for TV and films like The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, Welcome Back Kotter, and Police Squad. He is a writer, director and producer.  Screenwriting credits include:  The Naked Gun series, the Hot Shots movies, Scary Movie(s), Police Academy, Bachelor Party and many more. Proft's screenplays are typically spoofs, heavy with slapstick action, wisecracks and rapid-fire dialogue.

Roshini Rajkumar is a keynote speaker and communication coach who works with executives, authors, athletes, and politicians—guiding them to powerful industry and media performances. Joyce Rosenblad is an award-winning screen and television writer/editor. Her credits include the prestigious Writers Guild Award and three Emmy nominations for her work on the writing team of the NBC daytime drama Days of Our Lives. Recently she has specialized in writing screen adaptations of true stories, and is currently working on the screenplay version of   Holocaust survivor Betty Lauer’s memoir, Hiding In Plain Sight.

Ethan Rutherford is the marketing and publicity manager at Milkweed Editions. He received a 2011 Minnesota Emerging Writers' Grant, sponsored by the Loft Literary Center. His fiction has appeared in Ploughshares, American Short Fiction, Faultline and Best American Short Stories 2009. He is the recipient of a SASE/Jerome Foundation Grant for Emerging Writers, as well as a State Arts Board Grant. He’s finished a collection of short stories, and is at work on a novel.
