Functional Dysfunction
Dates: March 19-May 7, 2010
Artists: Caprice Glaser & Ray Becoskie
Reception: March 19, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
Artist Talk : April 15, 7:00 p.m.

This exhibition explores the collaborative paintings of artists Caprice Glaser and Ray Becoskie. By working together on large scale paintings which focus on line, color and composition, the artists try to achieve unpredictable, chaotic, yet balanced paintings; a paradox that cannot be achieved as singular painters. The combined effort, along with a stringent set of rules, creates a third persona that embraces the collective artistic goal. Guests at the opening reception will be able to of view this unique creative process come to life as the artists begin a painting together.

Striking black and white photography by artist Julie Taylor reflects her desire to over come the prejudices and apathy seen in our society today. A Fine Line
Dates: March 4-May 2, 2010
Artist: Nancy Yermakoff

Sumptuous, brilliant colors take you deep into the horizon line of Nanci Yermakoff’s watercolor landscape paintings.  Inspiration comes from Yermakoff’s childhood growing up on the East Coast as well as moving to the “land of lakes” and prairies in the Midwest. She is drawn to the openness, space, and the light that these places have in common. Using the characteristic transparency and fluidity of watercolor, Yermakoff is able to abstract the landscape to capture the subtle colors, light, and essence of these spaces.
