SUBJECT: A still life will be set up. But, you can paint any subject from your
imagination, a photo, another painting, anything.
Paint (Acrylic): Red Yellow
Blue Green
Brown Purple Black White
Additional colors optional
Suggest
purchasing least expensive brands in tubes or in 8 oz. plastic jars (remember,
not oil paint).
Brushes - Suggest four or more brushes:
Brush with bristles
that come to a point
¼" flat-ended brush
½" flat-ended
brush
1" flat-ended brush
Any larger brush depending in part on the
size of your painting surface
Rag - To wipe off brushes
Charcoal:
2 sticks medium or soft charcoal
Canvas: Can be canvas on a stretcher; or
a canvas board (cheaper than a canvas/stretcher)
Plywood; or even a stiff
mat board (least expensive of all surfaces). The mat board is a cardboard-like
material.
Size: Any size is okay. Remember that it must be carried to/from
class.
Water can: Coffee can size or any plastic container.
Palette:
For mixing as paint is squeezed from the tube. Can be wood, plastic, or a rip-off
paper.
